Ben A. Rutledge

President & Managing Advisor

Ben has worked in the financial services industry since 2020 as a planner and investment manager. He enjoys working with families, businesses and professionals to achieve their dreams financially. A committed listener, he believes in coaching people to develop realistic goals and providing them with the education and tools they need to stay disciplined in reaching those goals regardless of what life throws their way.

Ben grew up in the Atlanta, GA area where he attended Georgia Tech and received a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. For the next 25 years, he held leadership positions in engineering and operations with Milliken & Company and Anheuser-Busch. His career took him from North Georgia to St. Louis, Missouri and finally to Northern California where he met his wife, Liria.

Ben and “Li” relocated to the Atlanta, GA area in 2021 where they now reside, and Li owns and operates a successful construction and remodeling company. They have four adult children between the two of them and enjoy backpacking, biking, running, snowboarding, and traveling the world. They are fans of the Atlanta Braves and Seleção Canarinha (the Brazilian national soccer team).

Brittany Rose

Office of Supervisory Jurisdiction

Acting as supervisory principal for Tiburon Asset Management, ensuring compliance and advocacy, Brittany has worked in the Financial Advice industry for over a decade. She has a passion for bringing simplicity and ease to the lives of others through advocacy, authenticity, accessibility, and advice. She believes strongly that financial planning should be available to everyone and enjoys working for/with others to create a life they want for themselves and their clients. She puts people first- making decisions and recommendations that are in her advisors’ best interests.

Brittany is based in Central Florida, where she has lived for over 25 years. A graduate of the University of Central Florida with her B.A. in Finance and Biology, Brittany started her career with an established financial planning firm through internship, then right out of college. After just shy of 10 years, she took the leap of faith into true Independence. She holds her Series 7, 24, & 66 licenses and is currently working toward her CFP™ designation. She currently sits on the Financial Committee for the Community Foundation of South Lake, a resource of intentional connecting through philanthropic giving in her community. She is dedicated to helping her advisors- cultivating overall branch integrity and helping advisor’s work with their clients in the best manner for them. Brittany enjoys spending her downtime with her family, especially her 3 children: on the sidelines cheering them on, travelling, and giving back to her community.

Allen D. Rutledge

Financial Services Consultant

Allen D. Rutledge is a senior partner and co-founder of Capital Planning & Investments, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia.

Allen was educated at East Carolina University (BA-1969) and Georgia State University (MBA-Finance 1974). After two years in the U.S. Army and graduation from GSU, Allen worked as office and financial manager with a New York based manufacturing firm until returning to Atlanta in 1975 to work in sales for a nationally known political education organization.

S. Congressman Lawrence P. McDonald invited Allen to join his district congressional staff in 1983. After Congressman McDonald’s death, Allen began his career in financial services. His career began with Georgia International Life and Sun America Securities. Peachtree Planning Corporation recruited Allen in 1990 where he served as a financial advisor for the next 18 years.

Capital Planning & Investments, LLC was formed in 2008 with two other partners. The goal in forming CPI was to better serve clients through an availability of a wider range of financial products and strategies and to maintain its independence by selecting a broker-dealer which did not create products of its own.

In May, 2010 Allen was appointed registered principal for Capital Planning & Investments, LLC. The firm has grown to eight registered representatives and three staff. An experienced advisor, Allen has served his clients for over 39 years and believes in a philosophy of “serving-not selling”.

Allen has been married to Kathleen Boyd Rutledge of Arlington, Virginia since January 1971. Allen and Kathy are the parents of five sons as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. An avid sportsman, Allen enjoys tennis, hiking, hunting, and fishing.
